Looking at Module Two

In the second module of Technology for Leading and Learning, we covered a few new ideas that helped me grow as an individual using technology. The first concept that was introduced in this section was the 3r's research method and how it can be beneficial when discovering new pieces of information. The main focus of the module was on studying the importance and relevance of Moore's Law and learning how to make various edits using Adobe Express.

I found the 3r method to apply to my field of study in health sciences. Research, reading fast, and reflecting are three important abilities for one to utilize while searching for information that is on the internet. While searching for new ideas online can bring about many topics, it is crucial to narrow down the search to what you are really looking to get at to have a concise reflection. Too many ideas thrown at an individual from the internet may confuse and lead to misunderstandings, but if you learn the 3Rs, this can save time and help researchers complete tasks more efficiently.

We watched a video that provided a deeper understanding of how Moore's Law has made an impact on technology over the years. Moore's Law essentially states that as time goes on, smart devices such as laptops and cellphones will continue to get faster and cost less for the user. This was believed to occur every two years (Jovanovic, 2002). Part of this module also consisted of conducting our own research on Moore's Law and compiling a list of sources that our classmates could also look into to gain more knowledge on the topic. I found this belief to be fascinating, especially to see how it has been applied to technology over the past 50 years.

Using Adobe Express was simple and exciting for editing pictures. I found the method of removing backgrounds to be extremely helpful for using images online and adding them to this blog to help me keep it unique to my style. I feel as though this program will be something I am using a lot to develop my blog throughout the duration of this course. The effects add a lot of opportunities to get innovative as I make original content that can be a public display of who I am to my peers and other professionals in my future field of work.

After testing out different effects and images, here are the before and after of the picture I ultimately decided to edit using this application:

I was particularly excited during the second module of Technology for Leading and Learning, as we explored new programs and concepts. I felt myself grow while going through the different sections of information we were introduced to. I was intrigued by how simple it was to make edits using Adobe Express. I also found Moore's Law to be interesting and relevant to the way we view technology as it changes over time. Additionally, I will be utilizing the 3R method for future assignments, projects, and research in general as I expand my knowledge from here on forward, both in class and in the real world.
