My Flywheel Technology Leadership Strategy

 My Flywheel Technology Leadership Strategy

Welcome to another blog post for Technology for Leading and Learning! There has been a lot of new information taught to us the past few weeks, lots of which have been applicable to my life. The two main focuses of these weeks were on the One Thing Model and the Flywheel Model. I thoroughly enjoyed completing these assignments as they are helping me stay focused and on track for my future. I chose my One Thing because I feel like it will ultimately help me obtain the life and future, I want for myself.

As I was growing up, I was always driven to succeed in fields in which I knew I could directly make a difference and help people around me. I chose to focus on medicine from a young age and throughout my high school and college years have focused on various different fields that interest me. The biggest part I struggled with was finding a way to organize my thoughts and develop a timeline. The Flywheel Model was broken down into three stages. The first one is the building up, which includes all the things you do as your work your way into the field and get ready for the bigger things to come. The next stage was the breakthrough, where everything you had been towards pays off. Finally, the fly stage is the final part of the Flywheel model, and it consists of the long-term actions that come after becoming what it is you were seeking.

The interesting part of this assignment was constructing the timeline. I felt by doing this it helped put life into perspective for me. Sometimes as I am pondering about all of the job opportunities there are out there for me I find myself feeling a little lost. But after completing this assignment I feel inspired to begin using the next handful of years in a productive way for my future career. Here is the timeline I made to reach level 5 and "fly" on the Flywheel model.

2022-2023: Gaining experience in the medical field while applying to grad schools

2023-2024: Continuing to work and build relationships with others in the field

2024-2025: Finishing up my masters degree and planning on where I will either continue my education or start new work.

2025-2026:Continue to work and gain experience

2026-and forward: Work my way up and continue building my network

Starting beyond college, I plan on expanding my background and knowledge in the medical field by working and gaining experience. I then plan on continuing on to graduate school and building relationships and connections with others. I feel like this is important not only with my colleagues but also with the patients and the community I am living in. I am planning on being involved in non-profits and volunteering in any place I can to help better my community. Once I begin working in the career I choose I plan to not stop there and continue my education through online learning, medical journals, and other events.

This week was filled with a lot of new information which I am happy to have shared through my blog. I believe the Flywheel Model is extremely important and will make sure the goal for the One Thing is successful. I know that following these methods and working hard, will prepare me for a better future and fulfilling years to come as I put my energy toward building my career.
